Payroll software Pakistan
Payroll management software is software that runs salary processing on a defined employee record: earnings and deductions, tax and statutory components you configure, a monthly register you can review, payslips for staff, and a posted period that should not be silently edited afterward.
It is not the same as a general ledger and not the same as a full HRMS — though many teams buy payroll inside an HRMS so attendance and leave feed the same person ID. SBS HRM System includes payroll as a module connected to core HR, time, and leave; this article explains the category, not every vendor’s packaging.
Pakistani operators often ask about FBR income tax slabs and EOBI contributions. Payroll software can store those as configuration and apply them on the run. Recording and calculation inside the tenant is what SBS HRM documents; automatic government filing, IRIS submission, or legal certification are not claimed on this website. See the linked educational articles and confirm rates with your advisor during implementation.
The payroll workflow in plain terms
1) Confirm joiners, leavers, and component changes in core HR. 2) Settle attendance exceptions and approved leave for the period. 3) Build or refresh the monthly register. 4) Review gross-to-net with finance. 5) Post the period. 6) Generate payslips and bank-sheet output as configured. 7) Archive who approved the close. Software makes those steps visible; it does not remove sign-off.
Employee salary records and the payroll register
Each employee carries salary components — basic pay, allowances, loans, advances, and configured deductions. The register is the review surface for the whole company for one period. After posting, payslip history should match what was approved. That is why payroll belongs on the same employee file as attendance and leave, not on a standalone tab with no owner.
Calculations and reporting at a high level
Payroll software applies rules you configure: pro-rata joins/exits, unpaid leave treatment, tax slabs, EOBI lines, and net pay. Reporting means payslips for employees, register views for HR, and exports finance can schedule — not a promise of every statutory return format unless your deployment includes it.
Why teams move from spreadsheets to payroll software
Spreadsheets break when headcount grows, approvers multiply, or biometric punches no longer match the salary sheet. Version chaos, formula errors, and no audit trail on posted pay are the usual triggers. Payroll software does not magically fix policy; it gives you one system of record and a locked period after review.
Payroll-only tool vs HRMS-integrated payroll
A payroll-only tool may suit a very narrow use case. An HRMS-integrated payroll module suits teams that want punches, leave balances, and payslips to refer to the same employee identity. SBS HRM is positioned as the latter for Pakistani businesses — evaluate modules on the feature pages and in a private demo, not from this definition alone.
